By high-speed train
Direct trains run from Guangzhou South station (Guangzhounan) to Yangshuo station: around 30 to 35 a day in 2026, from about 6.37am to 6.51pm. The journey takes 1 hour 50 minutes to just over 3 hours depending on the stops, and a second-class seat costs ¥140 to ¥191.
Yangshuo station is near Xingping, about 25 to 34 km from Yangshuo town. A shuttle bus timed with the trains takes you to the Fengming visitor centre in town for about ¥20, in 50 to 60 minutes. Pick one of the faster trains and, if you are staying in Xingping, you are already close to your hotel.
Trains also run from Guangzhou South to Guilin West, in about 2 hours 45 minutes, but you then need a second leg to Yangshuo; the direct train is simpler. For the onward options from Guilin, see our guide on how to get from Guilin to Yangshuo.
By bus
Direct buses are reported to take about 5 hours, for around ¥140, with two departures a day. With fares close to the train's and twice the journey time, the bus only makes sense if the trains are full.
By plane
There are flights from Guangzhou Baiyun to Guilin Liangjiang, but the plane rarely makes sense on this route: add the trip to the airport, check-in and the 1 hour 30 minutes by coach from Guilin airport to Yangshuo, and the direct train, from under two hours, is simpler.
By car
By road, Yangshuo is about 422 km from Guangzhou, a drive of around 5 hours 45 minutes without stops.
